Too many people that I know rely on their memory for saving their favorite websites; they just begin to type the
name of a site into the address bar of their browser and then click on the web address when it shows after
typing in a few letters, what if the cookies have been cleared from your web browser, your computer crashes, you
use a different computer or you buy a new computer, all of your favorite sites are lost and you have to go
back to square one and start again using your memory. Some people save their bookmarks to a file on their PC but
fail to make a separate back up of it, this again is lost if the PC crashes or the hard drive fails etc.
In order to make a permanent copy of your book marks there is a little tool you can use that plugs in to most
popular browsers such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome etc, and is completely free, it is called X
Marks, you simply go to the website create a free account, down load the plug in if needed and then your book marks
are synchronized with your on line account every time that you sign in with your web browser and when you book mark
a new site. If you have to move to a new PC you simply install the plug-in again, log in to your account and hey
presto your saved book marks will appear back in your browser again.
Your favorite websites are now kept in a secure on line account and will never be lost again, once you have a few
bookmarks you will need to organize them in to category folders, if you wish, so that you can find your sites with
ease, this does not take too long and once done will save you lots of time.
You can import your present bookmarks quite easily to your X Marks account and it has a large storage capacity, to
date I have 698 book marked websites stored in my X Marks account and it can be used across multiple
computers and web browsers so you can take them with you anywhere that you go.
Find out more about preserving your bookmarks and create your free account by visiting the X Marks website.
